Aidana Rico Chávez born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1976. Visual and performance artist, researcher and independent organizer. Has the licenciature of Fine Arts, Painting mention, at the IUESAPAR, Caracas, Venezuela in 2008.
Since 2002 has presented solo and collective performance art works, in squares, streets, boulevards, museums and galleries, in the frame of differents festivals, events and indepently, in Venezuela, México, Chile, China, Poland, Germany, Uruguay, Czech Republic, Ireland, Brazil and Argentina.
Actually with Ignacio Pérez, is director of PERFORMANCELOGÍA, independent organization dedicated to Archive and Dissemination of Performance Art and is fund member of PerfoLink, Platform of Performance Art in Latin America.
In my performance art work I make a search of relationships with others, in what I call "acts of faith”. I do a search for elements and meanings that speak of my beliefs regarding the states of fragility and existence.
In a continuous reflection of inside and outside, the general and specific context.
I use found objects, significant objects of the places as well objects that speak of my memory, all of this cooperating in the construction of my pieces.
Through PERFORMANCELOGÍA, with Ignacio Pérez Pérez, has organized the following events:
- VITAE: International Performance Art Event. With the participation of 4 local and 3 international artists. With the support of the Cultural Institute Brasil Venezuela. CELARG, Caracas, Venezuela (October 2009).
- Performance Art Workshop dictated by Bartolomé Ferrando. With the support of the Embassy of Spain in Venezuela. ONG, Caracas, Venezuela (October 2008).
- OBJETUAL: Performance Art Event. With the participation of 11 local artists. Museo de Bellas Artes, Caracas, Venezuela (April 2008).
- PERFORMANCE ART: Diálogos. Talk cycle on Performance Art. With the participation of María Elena Ramos, Antonieta Sosa, Margarita D'Amico and Rolando Peña. ONG, Caracas, Venezuela (May 2007).
